PARK FAQ
Before You Book
How long should we plan to stay?
Most families stay 3.5 to 6.5 hours to enjoy both the cave and attractions and cafe.
If you’re just visiting the cave, plan for about 1 and a half hours. The caverns tour lasts under an hour, but you’ll need to visit the Whispering Gem Gift Shop to pick up your tickets and wait for your tour.
Is Majestic Caverns worth the drive?
Absolutely. Families typically spend 3–6 hours exploring the caverns and enjoying attractions, making it a full day of adventure. With a guided cave tour, hands-on attractions, and unique experiences you won’t find anywhere else, it’s a memory your family will talk about for years.
What all is included with admission?
We offer a few different ticket options depending on the experience you’re looking for:
- Guided Caverns Tour
Includes entry into the cave with a guided tour (offered throughout the day, typically on the half hour, but times may vary based on group schedules). - Above Ground Adventure Pass
Includes access to 15+ attractions in cooler months and 20+ attractions in warmer months, including seasonal water activities. - Ultimate Adventure Pass (Best Value)
This is our most popular option and includes both the guided cave tour and all above-ground attractions for a full day of adventure.
Is this good for young kids?
Yes. Majestic Caverns is designed to be family-friendly and beginner-friendly:
- No crawling or tight spaces
- Strollers and wagons allowed
- Fun attractions for all ages
Many families say it’s their child’s first cave experience.
How often do the tours go into the caverns?
Every hour a tour leaves outside the entrance of the caverns and each guided tour lasts just under an hour.
How long does the cave tour last?
Your guided caverns tour lasts nearly one hour.
Is the cave scary or claustrophobic?
Not at all. The caverns are:
- Spacious and open
- Guided the entire time
Most guests who are concerned about tight spaces are pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it feels.
What should I wear inside Majestic Caverns?
The temperature inside the cave is 60°F year-round. In the summer, it will be refreshingly cool, and in the winter it will be a comfortable warmer temperature. Because the entrance to our cave is a steep ramped tunnel we recommend wearing shoes with traction on the bottom, although there is a handrail for steadying yourself if your shoes are smooth on bottom.
Is Parking Free?
Yes, all parking is free!
Cave Experience
How often do tours go into the caverns?
Tours typically run hourly, but schedules may vary slightly by season. We recommend arriving early to reserve your preferred time.
How long does the cave tour last?
Our guided cave tour lasts just under one hour and covers approximately 1/3 mile.
Along the way, your guide will share the history and science of the caverns, and your experience concludes with a unique laser light show deep inside the cave.
What is the temperature inside the cave?
The cave stays a comfortable 60 degrees year-round:
- Cool in the summer
- Warm in the winter
What should I wear inside the cave?
- Comfortable walking shoes with good traction
- Light layers (a jacket if you tend to get cold)
Does it rain inside the cave?
Yes, in a natural way. As a “live cave,” you may see water dripping and flowing, which helps create the beautiful formations. But you will only feel occasional drips on you that we call “cave kisses” but it is not so frequent that you need a rain jacket, but you might get a few drips through the tour. This is just a sign of a healthy cave.
Family & Accessibility
Are strollers, baby carriers, wagons or baby back-packs allowed inside the cave?
Yes, they are. Our cave has a tunnel, making it accessible for you and your young ones.
Is Majestic Caverns handicap accessible?
Majestic Caverns is more accessible than most caves, and many guests with mobility needs are able to enjoy a meaningful portion of the experience.
- The first room of the cave, the Healing All Cathedral Room, is accessible by ramp and is one of the most breathtaking spaces in the caverns.
- There are no stairs on the tour route.
As the tour continues, there is a narrow passageway leading to the back portion of the cave. To access this area:
- Guests using a wheelchair would need to be able to walk a short distance with the assistance of a railing
- A companion can carry the folded wheelchair through the narrow section
If a guest is comfortable with this, they are typically able to experience the full tour.
If not, we offer a discounted tour option that allows guests to enjoy the Healing All Cathedral Room without needing to navigate the narrower passage.
Because this is a natural cave environment:
- Some ramps are steeper than standard ADA guidelines
- Wheelchair guests are required to bring a capable assistant to help navigate these areas safely
We are always happy to answer questions ahead of your visit to help you plan the best experience possible.
Are there restrooms available?
Yes, including a restroom inside the cave, which is rare and convenient for families.
- Cool in the summer
