Your guided caverns tour lasts nearly one hour.

The temperature inside the cave is 60°F year-round. In the summer, it will be refreshingly cool, and in the winter it will be a comfortable warmer temperature. Because the entrance to our cave is a steep ramped tunnel we recommend wearing shoes with traction on the bottom, although there is a handrail for steadying yourself if your shoes are smooth on bottom.

The following items are prohibited:

• Alcohol or drugs
• Magic Markers, spray paint, and aerosol cans
• Knives or chains
• Weapons
• Chemical weapons, including mace or pepper spray
• Fireworks
• Cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars or chewing tobacco. Majestic Caverns is a tobacco free environment
• Bicycles and similar items are not allowed inside the park for the safety of all of our guests
• Flyers or handouts
• Majestic Caverns reserves the right to prohibit anything that management decides may pose safety concerns for guests or the environment of our historical live Caverns.

• Outside food or drink are not allowed inside of the caverns (these items often have acidic or carbonated properties which erode the live formations inside our Caverns)

• Majestic Caverns reserves the right to prohibit additional items that may pose safety concerns for either the live Caverns or other guests. We are handicap accessible throught the Healing All Cathedral Room, which is the first room within our caverns and is accessible through a ramp. There is a passageway that narrows as our guests go towards our back room that would require someone to be able to walk through the back area while their wheelchair is folded in order to navigate through that narrow passageway. If the handicap guest is capable of walking a short distance that is supplied with a railing while the wheelchair is folded and brought through, our handicap guests will be able to see the entirety of the tour. If our guest is not capable of entering in the back of the cave, we have discount tours that still allow the guest to enjoy the Healing All Cathedral room within the caverns. Due to the natural environment of the cave, some areas had to be steeply ramped and will require an additional helper to navigate. Warning: For cave visitors in a wheelchair, it is required that you bring a capable assistant to help you with navigating the steep portions of the cave.

Yes, pets are allowed in the park as long as they remain on a leash. Inside the cave we only allow pets if you are capable of holding them throughout the tour. People who bring their pets are responsible for cleaning up their pet's waste. People with pets also will be held responsible for any damage their pet creates. Because of the indoor-outdoors nature of a cave, we cannot have any animals using the restroom inside the caverns, so they must be small enough to be held through the entirety of the tour.

It does not rain inside the cave. Although, because this cave is still growing you may experience getting dripped on occasionally. We like to call these occasional drips "cave kisses.

If you’re taking a cave tour, wear comfortable clothing suitable for 60-degree temperatures, keeping in mind you’ll be moving around. However, for an overnight stay, it’s likely cooler than what you’re used to at home. We recommend wearing warm layers and bringing a cozy blanket to stay comfortable while you sleep. Even if the cave feels fine during the tour, you’ll want extra warmth for the night when you’re less active.

• A backpack or duffel bag packed with all of your gear. Helpful Hint: You will carry your gear .2 miles from the parking area to the cave, so pack what you can carry that distance.

• Yes, to protect the cave and abide by the laws of the state of Alabama, a few items are not allowed in the cave. The following is a list of items that are not allowed during your stay in Majestic Caverns.
• Food or drinks (water is allowed, but carbonated drinks and other pollutants, if spilled, damage the formations of the natural Caverns. These spills require intensive cleaning measures using ecologically approved cleaners that will not harm the caverns. Also certain foods may draw animals that do not have a natural environment within caverns and could negatively affect the ecology. So, in the best interest of preserving this natural environment we do not allow these items.)
• Cigarettes, cigars or chewing tobacco. Majestic Caverns is a tobacco free environment and such items would leave a harmful residue or pollutant on the environment.
• Chewing gum : this is another harmful pollutant to the caverns environment when not disposed of properly.
• Alcohol or drugs
• Pets (Although we love our pets, our caverns can only welcome pets for as long as they can be held. During overnight stays they cannot be held throughout the entirety and their urine contains harmful acids for the caverns environment. So, in the best interest of preserving the natural habitat and protecting the caverns, we must prohibit pets from being brought into the cave for an overnight stay)

• Weapons or fireworks (these items are prohibited by law as the use of them would damage the caverns and be considered a federal offense under the The Federal Cave Resources Protection Act of 1988)

If you need to charge your phone or plug in an air mattress, we do have an extension cord available with a three-prong plug.

We allow you to drive your cars into the campground area to unload your gear which is closer than our main parking and is only a few hundred feet from the entrance of the caverns.
