Our event dates have lots of live entertainment, characters, and longer hours to enjoy all of these great experiences.
Ages 3 and Under... FREE
Ages 3 and under are free into the park and may accompany their guardians to wherever their guardians’ ticket gives them access.
Children tickets: Ages 4 - 11
Senior tickets: Ages 65 and older
Cave Tours Info
Guided Cave Tours leave just outside the gift shop hourly, during regular operations times. During the event, we have lantern tours available for an upgrade of ONLY $15, these tours will leave at 5 & 6 pm.
If you wish to experience a tour, choose our COMBO ticket for experiencing a tour during our regular operating hours from 9 – 4, or choose to add on the lantern tour for enjoying one during the event in the evening. Our day time tours includes a captivating laser light show. 🤩

What makes Harvestus different from other Halloween events in Alabama?
Harvestus is Alabama’s only underground Fall festival! We’re weather-proof fun underground (perfect 60°F year-round), offer both traditional and dye-free treat options, and provide family quest adventures in America’s most historic caverns. Unlike scary Halloween events, we focus on joy, wonder, and family bonding.
How long does the event last?
The full Harvestus experience lasts 3 hours (4:30-7:30 PM). Families can arrive anytime during this window and enjoy all activities at their own pace in our comfortable underground environment.
If you purchase the Lantern tour addition, those will depart at 5 pm and 6 pm. So ensure you arrive in time for this if you choose this exciting add-on!
Is this event scary or appropriate for young children?
Absolutely family-friendly! We specifically designed Harvestus as a joyful, wonder-filled alternative to fear-based Halloween events. Our entertainment focuses on amazement and celebration, perfect for sensitive children.
What ages are free?
Ages three and under are free when accompanied by an adult! This event is perfect for all ages!
Should we have costumes?
Absolutely! There will be a prize for the best kids’ costume at 6:30 pm!
Costumes are encouraged for kids! The whole family can dress up too, we just require all costumes to be family-friendly and not scary or inappropriate in order to protect the environment of the event. If you wear something that is deemed scary or inappropriate for the family-friendly environment, then you will not be allowed entry until you change.
Can adults wear costumes?
Absolutely! Adults can dress up too, we just require all costumes to be family-friendly!
Being family friendly can be different from house to house, and we want all of our guests to enjoy an incredible memory making experience together! So we ask that all adult costumes not be scary or inappropriate in order to protect the family-friendly environment of the event. If you wear something that is deemed scary or inappropriate for the family-friendly environment, then you will not be allowed entry until you change into something appropriate for the event. We recommend adults not wearing masks that could be scary, anything bloody, violent appearing, referring to horror films, or things that show lots of skin, such as torn clothing or clothing that is low cut or very short. These guidelines are in place to protect the marketed family friendly nature of the park.
Is this a one-time event?
This inaugural year features ONE special date – October 31st, 2025. Based on response, we plan to expand Harvestus in future years, but 2025 families will always be part of our founding celebration!
How many people need to be present to get the group rate?
Group discounts are available for groups of 30 or more.
What should I wear inside Majestic Caverns?
The temperature inside the cave is 60°F year-round. In the summer, it will be refreshingly cool, and in the winter it will be a comfortable warmer temperature. Because the entrance to our cave is a steep ramped tunnel we recommend wearing shoes with traction on the bottom, although there is a handrail for steadying yourself if your shoes are smooth on bottom.
Is Parking Free?
Yes, all parking is free!
Are strollers or baby back-packs allowed inside the cave?
Yes, they are. Our cave has a tunnel, making it accessible for you and your young ones.
What should I NOT bring to the park?
The following items are prohibited:
- Alcohol or drugs
- Magic Markers, spray paint, and aerosol cans
- Knives or chains
- Weapons
- Chemical weapons, including mace or pepper spray
- Fireworks
- Cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars or chewing tobacco. Majestic Caverns is a tobacco free environment
- Bicycles and similar items are not allowed inside the park for the safety of all of our guests
- Flyers or handouts
- Majestic Caverns reserves the right to prohibit anything that management decides may pose safety concerns for guests or the environment of our historical live Caverns.
What is NOT allowed inside the Caverns?
The following items are prohibited:
- Outside food or drink are not allowed inside of the caverns (these items often have acidic or carbonated properties which erode the live formations inside our Caverns)
- Cigarettes, cigars or chewing tobacco. Majestic Caverns is a tobacco free environment
- Chewing gum
- Majestic Caverns reserves the right to prohibit additional items that may pose safety concerns for either the live Caverns or other guests. If you have an unlisted item you would like to bring into the cave that is not listed as approved, please contact us to request approval in advance and recognize that if approval is not given, the item may not be allowed into the caverns.
Is Majestic Caverns handicap accessible?
We are handicap accessible throught the Healing All Cathedral Room, which is the first room within our caverns and is accessible through a ramp. There is a passageway that narrows as our guests go towards our back room that would require someone to be able to walk through the back area while their wheelchair is folded in order to navigate through that narrow passageway. If the handicap guest is capable of walking a short distance that is supplied with a railing while the wheelchair is folded and brought through, our handicap guests will be able to see the entirety of the tour. If our guest is not capable of entering in the back of the cave, we have discount tours that still allow the guest to enjoy the Healing All Cathedral room within the caverns. Due to the natural environment of the cave, some areas had to be steeply ramped and will require an additional helper to navigate. Warning: For cave visitors in a wheelchair, it is required that you bring a capable assistant to help you with navigating the steep portions of the cave.
Is Majestic Caverns open for the holidays?
We are open all holidays except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.
Are pets allowed at Majestic Caverns?
Yes, pets are allowed in the park as long as they remain on a leash. Inside the cave we only allow pets if you are capable of holding them throughout the tour. People who bring their pets are responsible for cleaning up their pet’s waste. People with pets also will be held responsible for any damage their pet creates. Because of the indoor-outdoors nature of a cave, we cannot have any animals using the restroom inside the caverns, so they must be small enough to be held through the entirety of the tour.
Does it rain inside the cave?
It does not rain inside the cave. Although, because this cave is still growing you may experience getting dripped on occasionally. We like to call these occasional drips “cave kisses.
Is there food on the premises?
Yes, we are proud to serve a variety of delicious and hormone free foods at our <a href=”cave-cafe”>Cave Cafe</a> in the gift shop. Be sure to try our award winning home-made fudge!
Is there camping nearby?
Yes, we have a campground on the property.
Is Majestic Caverns a state or national park?
No, we are a privately owned park that has stayed in the same family for over 100 years.
