At Majestic Caverns, we want to encourage regional artists to explore the hidden beauty of this world. We are thrilled to be celebrating the International Year of Cave and Karst through hosting the regional art contest. The regional art contest will include a broad range of artistic talents as long as they can be displayed on a 2D platform, such as photography, drawings, charcoal sketches, and paintings. A winner for the regional art contest will be judged on June 21, 2021, so all applications will need to be mailed in by June 12, 2021.

What: We will accept artwork that can be mailed in with your first and last name, mailing address, phone number, email address, a completed and signed entry form (found here)
Who: Artwork will be judged in categories based on age including 8 years and under, 9 – 13 years old, 14 – 18 years old, and 18 years and up.
When: Be certain to submit your art by mail with your forms by June 12, 2021.

One great way to take advantage of this art contest is by attending our art focused Capture the Cave events! We have one each month up until the contest. The dates Capture the Cave will take place are March 28, April 16, May 14 and June 4th. Each event will allow artist to “capture the Cave” for an hour at a discounted rate. During this hour, guests will have the opportunity to photograph, draw, and enjoy the cave’s beauty. The guides present during this time will not be giving tours, but will be adjusting the lighting so that different dramatic vinettes can be captured and they will also be there to ensure that the cave is respected during the process.
